The full definition for this activity is- "Vision in normal daylight or bright electric light with glasses or other aid to vision if such aid is normally worn."
There are six descriptors for this activity. The figures in brackets denote the number points awarded for each descriptor.
To "recognise a friend" in the 4th and 5th descriptors means recognising a friend's features and not the clothes that they are wearing.
With regard to severe tunnel vision it is important to recognise someone may have reasonable visual acuity but cannot read whole sentences or scan a page. In such cases the claimant would meet the third descriptor.
